ORDINANCE NO. 198 AN
ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 154 OF THE DUNES CITY CODE TO REVISE THE NUMBER OF CONSERVATION COMMITTEE MEMBERS AND STAGGERING OF TERMS, AND TO DEFINE A QUORUM CITY OF
WHEREAS, the Dunes City Council desires to modify membership
and general procedures regarding the operation of the Dunes City
Conservation Committee.
NOW THEREFORE, the City of
Section 1. Section
154.01 (“Conservation Committee Established”) of the Dunes City Code
is amended to read:
(A) Members.
The Committee shall consist of five voting members appointed by the
Council, each of whom shall be a resident of the city but not an officer
or employee of the city. The
Council shall select a member of the Council to act as the non-voting
chair of the Committee. The
Committee may call upon the State Forester, Biologists, Soil
Conservationists for advice and
other Professionals.
(B) Terms of office.
A term of office on the Committee shall be three years, commencing
on January 1 and ending on December 31.
The terms of Committee members shall be staggered so that no more
than two appointments end in the same calendar year.
(C) Vacancies.
Vacancies shall be filled by Council appointment for the remainder
of the unexpired term of the predecessor in office.
(D) Quorum.
A majority of voting members shall constitute a quorum. ADOPTED BY THE DUNES
